Played on: Vita (also available on PS3, 360, Wii, 3DS, PC, Mac)
After the exemplary mobile game Rayman Jungle Run, my interest in the Rayman series was officially piqued. Reviews for Origins were overwhelmingly positive, and I was looking for more platforming fun on my Vita so grabbed it – and it was a delight!
Where Mario platformers have become tired and repetitive, Rayman feels like a fresh challenge. Where Sonic failed in its promise of quality twitchy platforming at high speeds, Rayman Origins succeeds.
I almost regret getting it on the Vita as I would have loved to see that artwork on the big screen.
Verdict: As good as modern 2D platformers get. In fact, probably better.
Should Bradley play this: Hmm. Probably not, I don’t think he’s a big platformer guy. Maybe try out Jungle Run on the Android first and see what you think.
